Other than the main bridge crew of the Enterprise, twenty-two other named members of Starfleet were seen and referred to in the 22 episodes of the Animated STAR TREK series. These Starfleet personnel from the animated series are listed below along with a brief description. Those Starfleet members that were seen in the original series are indicated with an asterisk (*).
April, Robert. (James Doohan). Starfleet officer, born in 2195. In 2245, April was assigned as the first captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise. He was married to Sarah April. In the late 2260's he began a Federation ambassador-at-large. ("The Counter-Clock Incident").
April, Sarah. (Nichelle Nichols). First Chief Medical Officer assigned to the U.S.S. Enterprise in 2245. She was the wife of Robert April. ("The Counter-Clock Incident").
Bates. (James Doohan). Crewman aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. ("Yesteryear").
Bell. (James Doohan). Starfleet officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. ("The Time Trap"). Bell was only seen from behind.
Briel. (Nichelle Nichols). Mess Officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. She reported that the crew was panicking when all began to shrink on stardate 5577.3. ("The Terratin Incident"). Briel was never seen, only her voice was heard over the intercom.
Bryce, Randi. (Majel Barrett). Starfleet biologist assigned to the S.S. Ariel. On a mission to survey Lactra VII, she and the rest of the Ariel crew were captured by the Lactrans and placed in a zoo. ("The Eye of the Beholder").
Carver. (James Doohan). Officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise who accompanied Captain Kirk, Commander Spock and Dr. McCoy in a landing party to investigate Taurus II. ("The Lorelei Signal").
Clayton, Lieutenant. (James Doohan). Crewman aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. ("The Ambergris Element").
Davison. (Nichelle Nichols). Security officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. She accompanied Uhura and Chapel down to the planet Taurus II in 2269 on a mission to rescue Kirk, Spock, McCoy and Carver. ("The Lorelei Signal"). Davison was never seen, only her voice was heard over the intercom. If she was a member of the all-female landing party assembled by Uhura, it was not clear which one was her.
Erickson. (James Doohan). Starfleet historian who accompanied Kirk and Spock through the Guardian of Forever in 2269 to study Orion history firsthand. ("Yesteryear").
Gabler. (James Doohan). Engineering officer, one of Chief Engineer Scott's finest men. ("The Survivor", "Once Upon a Planet", "The Terratin Incident", "The Time Trap").
Grey. (Majel Barrett). Federation historian that studied the Guardian of Forever in 2269. ("Yesteryear").
Huron 1st Officer. (Majel Barrett). Executive Officer of the S.S. Huron. She was seriously injured when Orion pirates attacked the ship and stole its cargo. ("The Pirates of Orion").
Huron Helmsman. (George Takei). Helm officer aboard the S.S. Huron. He was seriously injured when Orion pirates attacked the ship and stole its cargo. ("The Pirates of Orion").
Kyle, Lieutenant.* (James Doohan). Transporter officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. ("Beyond the Farthest Star", "One Of Our Planets Is Missing", "Bem"). When he appeared in the original series, Klyle had no moustache and was portrayed by actor John Winston.
Markel, Lieutenant Commander Tom. (James Doohan). Commander of the S.S. Ariel. ("The Eye of the Beholder").
Nored, Lieutenant Anne. (Nichelle Nichols). Security officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. ("The Survivor").
O'Shea, Captain. (James Doohan). Captain of the S.S. Huron. He was seriously injured when Orion pirates attacked the ship and stole its cargo. ("The Pirates of Orion").
Randolph, Lieutenant Nancy. Navigator of the survey ship S.S. Ariel. She became ill with a malarial fever during her time in captivity in a Lactra VII zoo. ("The Eye of the Beholder").
Walking Bear, Ensign Dawson. (James Doohan). Relief helmsman aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. ("How Sharper Than a Serpent's Tooth...").
Wesley, Governor Robert.* (James Doohan). Former Starfleet commodore who became governor of the planet Mantilles in 2268. ("Once Upon a Planet"). When he appeared in the original series, Commodore Wesley was portrayed by actor Barry Russo.
